MEET THE BAND

angus_edited.jpg

I’ve been a percussionist with the band for over twenty years now and I can think of so many wonderful musicians that have graced the band during this time. Some have unfortunately passed on and others have either retired or gone on to loftier heights.

Some of the highlights of my earlier times were the trips to various music festivals across in Europe.

We have travelled to Switzerland, France, Holland, Belgium, and more recently, numerous trips to Germany where we have taken part in a few Schutzenfest music festivals along with a variety of other bands from across Europe.

We have also performed at the festival of remembrance in Dundee on a number of occasions and we are also regulars at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh.

When I first joined the band, I was above the eligible age for the TA so accepted the invite from the director of music to join the band. Working as a self employed taxi driver gives me the freedom to attend as many events as possible.

I love meeting new members and seeing how far the new players can take the band.
